Maria Isabel Restrepo is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter based in Miami, FL. Her original songs are an alternative folk/pop with a Latin influence.

Maria was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in Miami, Florida. As a child, she was always putting on shows for her family and friends, as well as, helping to organize the school shows. She grew up listening to lots of Disney, Latin, top hits, and film soundtracks. At age 9 she started performing in music as a part of a Spanish religious choir with a mission to reach people’s hearts with vulnerable lyrics and melodies. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 dual majoring in Music Business Management and Professional Music with a focus in Songwriting and Performance. Today she is the lead singer for the choir and is hired for special events such as weddings and funerals, as well as, performing her original songs.

Most of MIR's songs are relatable and inspired by what people are scared to talk about. "I am inspired by Juan Luis Guerra’s poetic lullabies blended into Latin jazz music, Ed Sheeran's storytelling lyrics and rhythmic fluctuations as the focus over chord patterns, and the underlying gender stereotypes in effect on society". Her upcoming single, "the truth is", is a love song about finally confessing you are in love for the first time. Stay tuned on Friday, August 20th it will be available on all streaming platforms.
